Last September 25, beepbeep.ph held the first Shop Talk. It’s an event for car shop owners to elevate their businesses and learn about best practices in the industry.
Various speakers were in attendance to impart useful knowledge to car shop owners in Quezon City: Don Dacay from Turtle Wax, Shey Lumbes for RK Franchising Consultancy, Toni Quioge from FindWork, Abigail Posadas from Rapidé, and Micci Lopez from GetSocial.

To start the event, Paolo Acosta, COO of beepbeep.ph, gave his opening remarks. He welcomed the guests to the first ever Shop Talk, which beepbeep.ph hopes to be a monthly affair. He also encouraged the attendees to network with each other as there was ripe opportunity to develop their respective businesses in gatherings like this.
The Speakers
After the opening remarks, Robbie Garcia, Product Manager of beepbeep.ph gave interesting tidbits of info about the car maintenance industry. He gave business owners some insight on what trends to look forward to in the coming months.

The second talk was given by Don Dacay of Turtle Wax. Discussing the innovations being made in industry, Don talked about how Turtle Wax can make the whole detailing process easier. Instead of the usual 4 steps, Turtle Wax can do it in a much simpler 3-step process.
On Building a Successful Business

It’s an interesting prospect for many car shop owners to expand their business, which is why it was timely when Shey Lumbes from RK Franchise Consultancy gave a talk on how to build one up. She tackled topics on different franchise types and locations, and how optimizing these would increase the chances of success for a franchisee.

Speaking of successful businesses, Rapidé was in attendance as well. Abigail Posadas, Chief Operations Manager of Rapidé Luzon, discussed the topic of auto servicing operations and management. She revealed how Rapidé kept itself at the forefront of the industry: Innovation. As car shop owners, she advised the guests to try and stay ahead of the game by following industry trends. She also suggests that the owners build a strong online presence for their establishments, as those will keep them relevant in the eyes of their customers.
Supplementary Business-building Efforts

Along with business-building is the importance of finding skilled and committed employees to do the job. This is exactly what Toni Quiogue from FindWork discussed during her talk. While the idea of online job listings has been around for some time, FindWork distinguishes itself in being a platform for skilled and service workers in the country. Using FindWork, workers can easily find employers looking for people of specific skills and expertise.

Micci Lopez of GetSocial gave the final talk on the current digital landscape. Car shop owners should take advantage of the current fast paced growth of social media. She shared different platforms that are useful for car shop owners to grow their online traffic and tools to help their business grow faster.
Shop Talk: A Monthly Gathering

As the day closed, Tony San Jose, the Head of Sales of beepbeep.ph, gave his closing remarks. He hopes that the event helped in expanding the attendees’ networks and gave them valuable insights about the car servicing industry at large.
Tony wishes that more support flows in for Shop Talk in its next iteration this October 23, 2019, and that plans for it are already falling into place as he speaks.
